Why cufflinks?

As Mark Twain famously said, “clothes make the man”.

Yet finding quality cufflinks to reflect your personality can be a challenge.

At ZAUNICK, designer Kai Zaunick and a small team of craftsmen constantly update their collection of handmade sterling silver cufflinks to reflect the latest trends in popular culture, fashion and design.

The Classic, Adventurer, Geek, Rock Star, Sportsman and Wedding ranges include best-selling designs such as the timeless fleur-de-lys insignia and 1930s-style golfer to iconic cartoon and pop figures, great white sharks, piranhas and lion´s heads.

Clients can also commission custom designs within two to four weeks, based on personal discussions with designer Kai Zaunick.

Unlike mass manufacturers, Kai and his team make each pair of cufflinks by hand to the highest standards, using traditional techniques to produce clean, modern designs.

About Cufflinks
Cufflinks date back to the early 16th Century when aristocrats used first string and then glass buttons on sterling silver chains to fasten the ruffled wristbands, or “cuffs”, of their shirts. It was not long before men began using cufflinks to express their personal style and social position. Family crests, mottos and monograms were popular cufflink designs, much as men favor the symbol of their favorite sports team, or a national flag. Diamonds and other precious gems were also incorporated into cufflink designs. Cufflinks are increasingly popular men´s accessories. Novelty cufflinks and humorous cufflinks often feature designs related to iconic figures from current affairs, sports, movies or literature.
